Neapolitan, very young, he began to collaborate with Paese Sera, where he was hired in 1980. In 1982 he became the youngest Italian professional journalist for that year. A brief stay at the Giornale di Napoli before starting to work as a freelance for various national newspapers. He is correspondent from Naples for the Republic, Il Secolo XIX and AGL. He also signs articles for the Press, the Messenger and the Morning. In 1988 he returned to the Neapolitan editorial office of Paese Sera as deputy foreman. The following year he was hired by the Corriere della Sera: for almost twenty years he will be the signature of the newspaper for the South, dealing with all the major issues. He took part in the founding of the Corriere del Mezzogiorno alongside Paolo Mieli and Marco Demarco in ’97. From the first issue and for many years he signed the daily column of political analysis “La Nota”, as well as editorials and comments. In 2007 he was called to Milan to be part of the Central office of the chief editors. He will remain there until 2010. He joins the editorial activity with journalistic activity: in 2008 with Riccardo Illy he writes for Mondadori. So we lose the North; in 2011, for the editions of the Corriere della Sera, curated with Alessandro Cannavò 11.9. The day that changed the world. From June 2015 he is the director of the Corriere del Mezzogiorno.
